“the Taming of the Shrew” vs “10 Things I Hate About You”

William Shakespeare wrote a famous piece called â€Å"The Taming of the Shrew† in the late 16th century. In 1999, a modern version of Shakespeares piece was created into a film called â€Å"10 Things I hate About You†. They are obviously both similar due to the fact that â€Å"10 Things I Hate About You† was a remake of the original, but they are not completely the same. The modern film version was changed to suit a different audience of the time period and contained more up-to-date features. The play â€Å"The Taming of the Shrew†, is basically about a â€Å"shrew† named Katherine Minola who is infamous for having a bad temper and being volatile. The same thing happens in the movie when Patrick agrees to date Kat for the money presented to him. They do fall in love with Katherine and Kat in the end. The differences between these two pieces of work are also fairly obvious. In the play the two women are daughters of the Lord of Padua.
